James Schadt is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Reader's Digest Association, Inc. Mr. Schadt was most recently the Executive Chairman and Acting CEO of Mercator Software, Inc. Prior to that, he was General Partner of Dailey Capital Management and Senior Operating Partner of Beacon Group, LLC. He is also the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Cadbury Beverages Inc.

Mr. Schadt is currently a Trustee of Northwestern University and a former Trustee of the American Enterprise Institute, the DeWitt Wallace Reader's Digest Fund and the Lila Wallace Reader's Digest Fund.

Mr. Schadt received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University.

§         Former CEO and President of Prestige Brands Holdings Inc. (NYSE: PBH), a leading personal care, OTC and household products company.

§         Former Worldwide CEO and President of the Gerber Products Company, a division of Novartis Pharmaceuticals where he generated record market share levels along with consistent sales and profit increases.

§         As President and CEO of Novartis’ Consumer Health Division, a multi-divisional unit with responsibility for OTC pharmaceuticals, Medical Foods and Devices, and Gerber. Led the integration efforts, which achieved significant cost synergies.

§         The Danone Group, General Manager of New Ventures. Led $300M growth mission to expand the Dannon brand across multiple food and beverage categories.

§         As CEO of Griffin’s Foods Limited, led the turnaround of this $170M food company by rationalizing manufacturing facilities, reducing headcount, introducing new products, and expanding internationally through joint ventures.

§         Held several executive positions and led businesses for RJR Nabisco, Procter & Gamble Company.

§         Former PepsiCo Inc., executive where he served as CFO of Pepsi Cola USA, Frito-Lay International and President of Frito-Lay Brazil.

§         Former SVP and CFO and later President of Cadbury Schweppes North America.

§         Gained LBO experience at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts sponsored RJR Nabisco as the Vice President of Corporate Development and later Chief Financial Officer.

§         Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chairman of the Operating Committee of The Reader’s Digest Association.

§         Finance Director and member of the main Board of Reckitt & Colman, plc, where he engineered the merger with Benckiser, NV.

§         Chief Financial Officer of Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe portfolio company, Bridge Information Systems.

§         Chair of the Audit Committee on the Board of Newport News Shipbuilding, Inc., until its sale to Northrup Grumman. He currently serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations.

§         Led the acquisition and integration of Snapple Beverages as Chairman of Triarc Beverages (RC Cola).

§         Expanded Triarc’s business internationally by leading negotiations in China, Japan, Mexico, South America, Russia and Poland.

§         Sold the entire beverage portfolio of Triarc to Cadbury Schweppes, generating a significant return for investors.

§         Former President of Cadbury Schweppes North America where he led the expansion of the Schweppes brand beyond mixers and into Adult Soft Drinks.
